Don Quijote Guide
Actionable workflow for navigating mega multi-floor layouts, using coupons, and completing tax-free checkouts.
Store Layout & Strategy
Mega Don Quijote stores feature 4 to 8 floors of packed vertical shopping.
Pick up a rolling basket on the ground floor. You can shop all floors freely and accumulate items, but do not go down to the basement exit before checking out.
The Checkout Process
Do not use standard registers. Look for the dedicated, glowing Tax-Free Checkout Counter (usually on the top floor or near the main exit).
You must present your physical passport carrying your temporary visitor stamp to the clerk.
The clerk will pack and seal your tax-free items in secure plastic bags. Do not tear open or break these sealed bags while inside Japan; they must remain sealed until you exit the country.
Digital Coupons
Save an extra 5% on top of your 10% tax refund.
Always present the official Don Quijote 5% Tourist Coupon barcode (available online or via travel apps) at checkout for purchases over ¥10,000.
