📮 Post Offices & Shipping

Locate JP Post offices, buy packing boxes, mail letters, and return rental SIM cards / Pocket Wi-Fi.

SIM Card & Pocket Wi-Fi Returns

Most rental Pocket Wi-Fi devices and SIM cards include a pre-paid return envelope (Letter Pack). Follow these steps before departing:

  1. Place the device, chargers, and cords inside the provided return envelope.
  2. Seal the envelope securely. Do not forget to peel off the tracking number sticker for your records.
  3. Drop the envelope into any red JP Post mail box (found on streets and inside airport terminals).

Shipping Boxes & International Mail

Purchase shipping supplies directly at JP Post service windows. Standard cardboard boxes (Yu-Pack) are available:

  • Small (Size 60-80): Â¥100–¥140. Ideal for small souvenirs or clothes.
  • Medium (Size 100-120): Â¥180–¥220. Fits moderate luggage and packages.
  • Large (Size 140-170): Â¥280–¥380. Suitable for heavy or bulky shipping.

For international packages, use EMS (Express Mail Service). You must fill out the customs declaration forms online via the JP Post portal before dropping off the package.

Finding JP Post

JP Post offices are marked by a distinctive red 〒 logo on a white background. Standard hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, closed on weekends, though central city hubs (like Tokyo Central Post Office) feature extended/weekend counter hours.
