🍣Conveyor Belt Sushi (Kaitenzushi)
Optimized quick mobile reference for lane mechanics, plate fees, and etiquette.
How It Works
The System
Sushi plates circulate on a continuous track. You can grab any plate directly off the lane, or order fresh items using a multilingual seat-side tablet.
The Check
Your final bill is calculated by counting the total number, color, and pattern of the empty plates stacked at your table.
Step-by-Step Seat Workflow
Standard Plate Color Guide
Standard industry pricing structures generally follow this color tier:
| Plate Color / Design | Estimated Price | Typical Topping |
|---|---|---|
| Plain Solid Color (White/Yellow) | ¥115 – ¥150 | Salmon, Tuna Salad, Egg Tamago |
| Patterned / Silver | ¥180 – ¥280 | Fatty Salmon, Seared Pork, Shrimp |
| Gold / Black / Sparkle | ¥350 – ¥500+ | Otoro (Premium Tuna), Sea Urchin, Eel |
Mandatory Rules
Never put a plate back onto the moving belt once your hand has touched it.
Never use your fingers to grab food off the belt; always take the entire plate using your hands, then use chopsticks to transfer the sushi.
Do not pass food directly from your chopsticks to someone else's chopsticks (this mirrors a funeral ritual). Pass the entire plate instead.
Stack your finished plates neatly by color group at the edge of your table. Do not hide plates.
